Burn Out ~ How to Cope when you are not excited by your job…

02.23.2020 by JDMackenroth //

We have all been there at one time or another; you go to work, and you dread it! You haven’t even punched in and you can’t wait to leave. The clientele you work with makes you want to scream and pull your hair out, or bang your head against the wall. Consequently, you drink heavily when you get home, or go through a pack a day at work. These are all signs you are getting burnt out, or you desperately need a vacation. There are ways to help you deal with burnout at the job and chances are, if you are reading this, you need to take the edge off so you can either find that “why” that attracted you to the job to begin with, or to hold you over until you find a new career.

  1. Read the Bible:

Starting the day with the Bible or even a motivational quote can go a long way if you are feeling depressed about a situation in life. Don’t forget though: a calm sea never made a skilled sailor. God uses these situations to make us tougher. Call it “Trial by Fire” if you will.

  2. Find a Hobby:

As you notice on the site, I have various interests from Cars to Guns to Politics, and everything in between. That being said, I may know what I’m talking about to be able to deal with the high stress, high turnover rate job, that I do for as I long as I have. For me, I rely on God, who gives me the wisdom to find ways to deal with stress appropriately. There’s the saying “don’t put all your eggs in one basket” that fits in nicely here too.

  3. Talk to Friends:

Whether in real life or social media, having fellowship is important to all people. It’s a basic need on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. The need to belong or feel loved is right there on the bottom of the triangle. It doesn’t matter if you are an introvert, extrovert, or a psychopath; there’s always gonna be somebody you want to connect to. Facebook has a group for everyone! I belong to numerous groups on Facebook and even manage my own pages!

  4. Start a business:

For this, you are going to need to be financial and business saavy to really make it work, and need investors, but as long you don’t quit and keep moving forward, and don’t give up on your dream, you should be ahead this time next year. I opened my store a year ago at https://macksmerch.etsy.com, and its been slow thus far, but I haven’t given up.

  5. Work Out:

Running, lifting weights, joing an MMA gym, whatever you gotta do to release that stress! That’s pretty self explanatory. Even have sex with your husband or wife counts as exercise, but please consult your primary care physician first to see if you are healthy enough first if you have any health concerns because I am not responsible for what you do as a result of reading this blog post!

  6. Read a Book!  Because reading helps you get smarter! As a result, we are growing, and if we aren’t growing, then by default, we are dying!

Rochelle Martin is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Shayne Rivers.
"Dear friends
The last few days have been heartbreaking for my family. Jason, my husband of 20 years, my friend, and the father of my children, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning. He was a selfless server to his family, friends, and the community around him. He was a veteran of the Marines, a 4H leader, a baseball coach, and an explorer.
We have been surrounded by family and friends and appreciated the loving support. We are all deeply grieving the loss of such an amazing father, husband, and friend. There is so much more to say but at this time words fail to express the loss and sorrow."
-Shayne Rivers

This account has been created to help Shayne with any financial hardships after the passing of her husband, Jason. The money given through this account will go directly towards the well being of their children. Thank you so much for your love and support! ALSO, please leave comments for the family: Share memories & stories. Together we can bear this heartache.
With Love & Prayers,
Shelly Martin
